Poulet goes the way of sweet, tart apples for Christmas with its juicy chicken offerings: a succulent poulet roti ($17.90++ half, $30.90++ whole) with caramelised apple sauce, and crispy cinnamon winglets ($5.90++ with any main course) paired with an apple dip. Festive menu available until 31 December at all outlets save Jurong Point.

Experimentation is the motto of Restaurant SELA, with its constantly changing menu and innovative dishes. The Christmas menu features soft, roasted brussel sprouts ($16.50) with bacon and sweet tangy pomegranate, and turkey breast escalopes ($26) with mangoes, plums, and feta cheese.

Putting a South Asian spin on Christmas pays off for Zaffron Kitchen West Gate. Its festive menu ($35 per pax) offers a choice of mains between a whole wheat Shahi turkey biryani, or a roasted tandoori turkey set. Dessert includes the chef’s spin on bread and butter pudding.

Clover Garden’s four-course festive menu ($42 per pax) runs till 10 Jan 2015. The cream of cauliflower soup topped with prosciutto crisp, poached egg and croutons is especially heart-warming in this cool monsoon season, and we enjoyed the triple-textured Tasmanian salmon, which goes from raw on the inside to flaky on the outside.

Earle Swensen’s rolls out its holiday menu, available till 31 Dec, with three new mains and a dessert: the slipper lobster vol-au-vent ($32.90) has pan-seared lobster packed with mushrooms and vegetables into a puff pastry bowl, and the turkey breast supreme trio ($26.90) combines turkey breast with king prawn over butter chestnut rice.
