Magic is in the air at Marina Square this Christmas.

It’s a truly magical winter wonderland at Marina Square this Christmas, with colourful and festive food on offer – and unicorns. Everywhere. Expect instagrammable foodie favourites such as Boufé Boutique Café’s famed Unicorn and Milky Way cakes, sinful salted caramel marshmallows from The Wicked Cream to specially-created items like the rainbow Singsoo (ice-kacang mixed with Korean bingsoo) and Rainbow Lapis by Tingkat PeraMakan.

Shaun Teo’s whimsical cake pops feature unicorns, mermaids, Pusheen and more.

If you prefer to be a little more hands on with your food, take part and hone your cake decorating skills with family-friendly workshops run by popular Malaysian cake designer Shaun Teo from ShaunTeoCreations and cookie and fondant cupcake decorating workshops by BakeFresh Studio.

Get your camera ready to take pictures of your handiwork, as you decorate your own Milky Way cake with Boufé. We were mesmerized watching the glaze settle atop our own cake – it was so pretty we didn’t want to eat it, but boy were we glad we did. Expect a silky smooth white chocolate yogurt mousse, honey genoise, chocolate sable and a tart calamansi jelly in the middle.

While you admire their mini Unicorn Cake, try your hand at glazing Boufé Boutique Café’s Milky Way cake.

Wash it down with glittering tea from R&B Singapore, a Taiwanese brand that opened two months ago in Marina Square, that has three tempting thirst quenchers on offer – Cotton Candy Skies, Unicorns of the Galaxy and Heaven & Earth. We chose Unicorns of the Galaxy for some refreshing rozelle and lychee goodness, as well as the more milky matcha and blue pea flower flavour of Heaven & Earth.

For those craving who prefer savoury over sweet, Michelin-starred Putien has your favourite Fried Heng Hwa Vermicelli with stir-fried yam, as well as a special purple sweet potato with pumpkin cream dessert that matches the mall’s colourful Christmas theme.

For gourmet marshmallows and smores as big as your face, The Wicked Cream has you covered – we were pleasantly surprised with their Charcoal Lemonade flavour – but for a more local palate, try Tingkat PeraMakan which boasts colourful kuehs, rainbow lapis, glutinous rice and laksa.

It’s glitter galore with Rainbow Works’ ‘magical’ potions – Mermaid Tears, Unicorn Tears, Love Potion No. 9, Unicorn Potion and Fairy Dust – or you can munch on psychedelic tamagoyaki (Japanese egg roll) at WaTamago next door.

They make not be magical but Rainbow Work’s many potions are eye-catching.

Other vendors include Alley (Thai and Anchan iced teas), O’Coffee Club, Angel Baker (for cute character macarons), Seoul Garden and Mei Heong Yuen Dessert. Marina Square’s Whimsical Food Fair is on now until 19 November so don’t miss out for your chance to become a unicorn for a day.
