Chef Keisuke has done it again with his latest restaurant offering chopstick-tender hamburg steak and a free-flowing Japanese salad and egg station.

Ramen master chef Keisuke Takeda strays away from his usual ramen restaurants (he now has 12 stores islandwide) at his newest outlet—Teppanyaki Hamburg Nihonbashi Keisuke Bettei. Located at Peck Seah Street, this kicky new concept focuses on Japan’s favourite comfort food, the hamburg steak.

Confident in the quality of his hamburg, chef Keisuke is only offering two types of hamburg on the menu—not that we are complaining. We highly recommended ordering the original; the Keisuke Prime Beef Hamburg Set ($18.80). Made from 150g prime US beef shoulder and freshly grounded in store, the succulent patty boasts a creamy texture and can easily be sliced with a pair of chopsticks.

Meanwhile, fans of cheese will enjoy the Triple Cheese Prime Beef Hamburg set ($20.80). Hand-formed and stuffed with cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan, the juicy meat reveals a delicious molten centre of cheesy goodness. Served on a hotplate, each hamburg set comes with sliced onions, an ebi furai, aburaage, and soft tofu with bonito flakes. Diners also get to pick from a selection of four scrummy sauces—Keisuke original sweet and spicy sauce, demi-glaze, oroshi ponzu (radish with vinegar) and teriyaki—to pour over their meat. As traditionalists, we felt the teriyaki sauce suited the juicy patty best.

Afraid you won’t be full from the meal? Fret not. For every set ordered, diners get to enjoy free-flowing eggs, cooked to their preferences including sunny-side-up and tamagoyaki. Plus! There’s also an all-you-can-eat salad bar too, which features 20 refreshing items such as a cha soba salad, simmered pumpkin and pickled cabbage. Yes, the salad bar is included in the price of your hamburg set. What are you waiting for?
