Dapper menswear brand, Benjamin Barker, has opened Benjamin Barker Cafe to much fanfare. The stylish establishment is teeming with hearty delights, like their Mr BB ($19), a classic Angus beef burger, and the aromatic Truffle Scented Mushroom & Egg Pizza ($22). They’ve also introduced a touch of local flavour with the Laksa Pizza ($22) with all the works – squids, clams, quail eggs and, even, fish cake. And, the strong and creamy White Cold Brew ($8) is the perfect accompaniment to a (much-needed) #OOTD shot at the cafe.

What better way to beat the heat in Singapore than with an Icy Merlion Popsicle ($4.80)? Artisanal ice cream shop, LeeU SG, prides themselves in creating icy delights fashioned into iconic landmarks and local experiences. Think Esplanade Ice Cream ($11.80), a vibrant green ‘sculpture’ made of durian, and a citrusy The Zouk-Out Cure ($6.80). Best of all, there’s also an Unicorn Float ($8) prop that’s perfect for the ‘gram.

The Sushi Bar

Serving value-for-money Japanese food in a casual environment, The Sushi Bar opens up its third outlet at Tampines 1. New dishes emerge every now and then, so there’s always something to look forward to. Sashimi lovers should go for the Kaisen Chirashi Don ($26.90), while the Salmon Aburi Roll ($16.90) is great for sharing amongst friends. Complete the meal with the light Dassai 50 sake (from $44.90), that possesses a delicate fruity aroma.

Clan Cafe

Serving up healthy yet comforting Asian-inspired dishes, Straits Clan’s inviting lobby lounge, Clan Cafe, has finally opened its doors. Try the Kakiage grain bowl ($15), a wholesome combination of crunchy kakiage, mushrooms, eggplant, murasaki imo, kale and mixed grains. Clan Cafe also offers a range of specially developed tea blends ($8) that help to soothe concerns ailments like digestion, anxiety and detoxification.

PABLO Mini Cafe

PABLO’s second outlet has recently opened at NEX. Exclusive to PABLO mini cafe is the Mini Kaya Tart ($4.20), that is filled with creamy kaya and topped with roasted coconut flakes. Apart from cheese tarts, the cafe will also be offering variety of boxed confectioneries, soft-serve ice cream, smoothies, and other beverages.

Hokkaido-ya

If indulging in affordable Japanese food is your idea of paradise, then Hokkaido-Ya is the place for you. The crowd-pleasing Hokkaido Beef Ramen ($15.90) sounds heavy, but its portion does not overwhelm – served with medium-rare Hokkaido beef and a bed of springy ramen noodles, the dish is topped with an egg and bean sprouts. Diners can also garnish their soups as they please, with condiments like spring onions and togarashi chilli powder. For a more decadent option, pick the Truffle Salmon Don ($10.90), a  satisfying salmon sashimi rice bowl, drizzled with just the right amount of truffle oil.
