From the same folks at Otto Locanda and Otto Ristorante comes an Italian pizzeria that’s
modern, industrial-chic and friendly. Helmed by young (and handsome!) Italian chefs, 2it & drink‘s stringently made pizza dough is proofed for 36 hours for a well developed crust, while all pastas are made in-house. Opt for familiars such as spaghetti with mixed seafood ($28), or the creamy braised beef agnolotti with mushroom ($22). The Golosa pizza ($26) has been the runaway seller: buffalo mozzarella, Sicilian tomatoes, pesto, mortadella and pistachio. There’s Peroni beer on tap and plenty of well chosen wines from $48 a bottle to keep you lingering. #01-01 Valley Point Shopping Centre, 491 River Valley Road. Tel: 6737 3001
New cool kid in town, +39 Gelato Bar, brings a taste of Italy to the CBD area. Using a state-of-the-art IdeaTre machine, the gelato is made fresh without any preservatives or chemical additives. The result? A light and smooth consistency which went down easily with us. There are plans to rotate flavours throughout the day and offer savoury flavours like mashed potatoes. +39 also stocks a range of liquors for a more decadent treat. From $5.50/scoop. 29 Circular Road. Tel: 6532 0380
