What’s it like to chomp your way through a crab buffet? We checked out PARKROYAL on Beach Road’s restaurant, Plaza Brasserie, for their Ultimate Crab Feast (running till 28 June 2017). Check out our video, and scroll down for a recap of what we ate!
We arrived early to Plaza Brasserie and diners were already starting to flood in on a Tuesday evening. After settling down, we headed to the attractive seafood on ice selection. We picked our choice of cold seafood from the selection of succulent tiger prawn, green lipped New Zealand mussels, mud crabs and flower crabs.
The appetisers included crab meat balls with potato, that went well with wasabi mayo, and crab meat chawanmushi.
The hot crab dishes were what we were all looking forward to, with selections like Singapore chilli crab, salted egg crab, white pepper crab, sambal petai crab, and cereal crab.
One of the highlights of the live stations, in addition to the curry crab meat in kueh pie tee, was the claypot ginger Hua Tiow crab. It was prepared on the spot and served bubbling hot to us. We really liked how strong and fragrant the soup tasted.
Our fantastic meal ended off with some of the buffet’s desserts – though we don’t know where we found the space in our bellies!
