Celebrate the post-exam high with these all-you-can-eat student deals.

School’s out! What better way to celebrate the end of exams (and mugging) than an all-you-can-eat buffet? We’ve rounded up a list of buffets that are priced real low just for students. So, whether you’re in secondary or in university, these deals are sure to start off your school holidays with a mighty bang.

Suki-ya

Suki-ya

The Suki-ya After School Shabu Shabu Buffet ($13.90, additional $3 on Fridays) is a treat with its five mouthwatering soup bases, from the rich Butaniku (pork-based) to the appetising Kimuchi (kimchi and spicy miso), and thinly sliced beef, chicken and pork. There’s also a healthy bar which comes with a wide variety of vegetables, mushrooms, fish balls and other steamboat favourites to soak up all the broth (refillable, of course). We recommend keeping an eye out for the limited Tonyu Miso (miso and soy milk) as it goes swimmingly with the chicken slices.

Shaburi & Kintan Buffet

Shaburi & Kintan Buffet

Shaburi & Kintan Buffet offers Japanese BBQ

Over in the West, we have Shaburi & Kintan Buffet‘s Student Meal ($9.80). It comes with two plates of quality BBQ meats (chicken, beef, pork) as well as full access to the buffet bar and soft drinks. The buffet bar is enough to satisfy even the most ravenous of appetites. It has about 40 types of hot and cold side dishes, ranging from the usual suspects of fresh greens to a sushi and curry fried rice. Give their sauce bar a try too. Crowd favourites are the Shaburi Original and Goma (sesame sauce).

Promotion is available from Mondays to Thursdays, from 11.30AM to 4PM.

ROCKU Yakiniku

Rocku Yakiniku

Perhaps one of the better deals for meat lovers is ROCKU Yakiniku‘s student lunch deal ($13.90, additional $3 on Fridays). This upbeat Japanese pop-culture-inspired BBQ restaurant (you’ll see it on the walls) offers free flow beef, pork, chicken and, even, seafood. We can’t get enough of the beef chuck tender with its strong, meaty flavours, and the marinated chicken. Don’t forget to save space for the succulent salmon chunks and green mussels, that goes well with the aromatic garlic fried rice. Best of all, they’ve done an amazing job with the ventilation so you and your besties can leave the restaurant smelling fresh.

Promotion is available from Mondays to Fridays, from 12PM to 3PM.

DOOKKI Korean Tteobokki Buffet

DOOKKI Korean Tteobokki Buffet

For 60 minutes, students ($12.80) can dig into Korea’s favourite street snack, tteobokki (rice cakes) in an endless array of flavours and topping combinations at DOOKKI. Simply head over to the buffet and pick up your choice of ready-to-cook ingredients; Korean fish cakes, mushrooms, sausages, pasta, eggs and vegetables. Our favourite way to eat this dish is to dip them into the melting cheese. Remember to watch the clock and make time for your second meal – Kimchi Fried Rice, by asking the waiter for a bowl of rice, and frying it in with your remaining ingredients. Foodie hack: fry it longer to get that delicious, crisp bottom.

Promotion is available from Mondays to Fridays, from 11.30AM to 5PM:

  • #B1-07, Suntec City Mall, 3 Temasek Boulevard. Tel: 6266 2425
  • #B1-30/31, The Clementi Mall, 3155 Commonwealth Avenue West. Tel: 6904 8733

Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ

Kubali Khan

This list would be remiss without Kublai Khan Mongolian BBQ. Not only is it the first (and only) restaurant to serve Halal-certified Mongolian BBQ in Singapore, it comes with a mammoth hot iron griddle from which a chef would cook anything from chicken pineapples to lamb with green peppers on (with a pair of ridiculously long chopsticks). Just pick up your ideal mix of meets and greens, pass it on to the chef and watch him work his magic. Pair the meats with the accompanying slew of fresh seafood, Chinese claypot dishes and desserts. It’s definitely on the pricier side ($24.80 from Mondays to Thursdays; $26.80 from Fridays to Sundays), but the generous spread makes it an amazing deal.

Come hungry. Very hungry.

Promotion is available all week, from 1130AM to 3PM and 6PM to 10PM.
Only for Polytechnic, ITE, Secondary and Primary School student passes.

Crystal Jade Kitchen

Crystal Jade Kitchen

For those feeling fancy, go for Crystal Jade Kitchen‘s Dim Sum buffet ($18.80). It comes with 22 types of meticulously crafted dim sum creations that usually cost quite a bomb. They’ve got the classics of Steamed Ha Kao (with big, chunky prawns) and Steamed Siew Mai with Fish Roe, but we suggest going for the Deep Fred Salted Egg Shrimp with Cheong Fun. The latter is so good, you’d want a plate (or more) all to yourself. And, let’s not forget about the Animal Shaped Lotus Paste Buns that are oh-so-perfect for the ‘gram.

Promotion is available all week, from 3PM to 5PM, until 29 June.
