The Dark Gallery
While not a traditional high tea per say, go ahead and get that endorphin boost at The Dark Gallery, Singapore’s first single origin dark chocolate dessert bar. Their platters are more than just a beautiful plating of their pastries and gelatos. Each comes with a information sheet, telling diners about the cacao beans used to create the mouthwatering desserts before them. The Single Origin Chocolate Pastries Platter ($12) features 5 intricate desserts, while the Single Origin Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Platter ($12) takes the cake with three unique scoops of gelato. The flavours will change according to availability, but oenophiles should keep a lookout for the 70% Dominican Republic. Fat Lulu’s Asian BBQ & Desserts
Dessert is not an afterthought with Fat Lulu‘s Dessert Pig Out ($65++/10 desserts). Till 31 December, the decadent array of re-imagined favourites, such as the Lemon Grass Jelly and Melaka Boleh (gula Melaka crème brulee with cream cheese ice cream), will be available to share with three others at this quaint shop-house along River Valley road. Not one for sweets? Then, this platter of imported French cheeses and wine at O Batignolles is sure to be up your alley. The cheese platter (3 for S$22, 5 for S$32, 7 for S$42) is customisable, and can include the silky yet fruity Tete de Moine to a creamy and intense raw goat milk cheese, Valencay Aop Fermier. Japanese-French-inspired patisserie, Nesuto, celebrates the festive season with a Christmas themed high tea ($45.90/person, $24.90 for the second guest). Savoury treats, such as the Salmon Avocado Tacos and a juicy Pulled Pork Slider with Homemade Coleslaw, will join Cranberry Buttery Scones, Yuzu Tartlets and Matcha Raspberry Opera Cake.
