Whether you don’t want to spend a cent, or don’t mind splurging on a few drinks, here are our vantage spots for a few magical minutes of crackling lights.
Orgo
The fireworks view from Orgo, on the low rooftop of Esplanade, is beautifully framed by Marina Bay Sands to the left and Marina Bay buildings on the right. Perfect for shutterbugs, or just toasting with cocktails in hand.
Address: #04-01 Esplanade-Theaters on the Bay, 8 Raffles Avenue. Tel: 63369366
Merlion Park / One Fullerton
For that extra bit of national pride why not watch the festivities beside Singapore’s iconic tourism mascot–the Merlion. Many of the restaurants along One Fullerton also offer an unimpeded view, but it’s best to make reservations in advance.
Address: 1 Fullerton Road
The Promontory @ Marina Bay
Park yourself here for the festive (read: crowded) atmosphere. Be prepared to come early as it’s one of the most popular free spots for excellent views of the fireworks.
Address: 11 Marina Boulevard
Marina Barrage/Bay East Garden
Though further away, the rooftop of the Marina Barrage is a prime viewing platform for the public. Should the garden be filled to capacity, head next door to the Bay East Garden. Though lacking in elevation, your view remains unobstructed.
Address: 8 Marina Gardens Drive
