Chow down on some crispy Roasted Pork Belly ($28.80) if you love that mix of tender, fatty meat and crunchy pork skin, or go for the Roasted Pork Knuckle ($18.90). We loved how juicy the meat was, together with the perfectly roasted pork crackling it was soft and crunchy at once.
Swiss Butchery does a mean Smoked Duck Breast as well ($18.90). Sliced into thick pieces, the smoked duck was pink and smooth. One thing we liked was that the flavour on all their dishes was well balanced, and not too heavy on the salt.
A refreshing twist to the usual celebratory dishes, Taste.Swiss Butchery also offers a range of unique festive creations like Braised Whole Duck with Chestnut Filling ($68), a Traditional Spicy Chicken in Gelatine ($42), and a dish that marries the East and West – Quiche with Bak Kwa ($32). There’s also Jumbo Roast Golden Chicken ($20), that comes in Honey Glazed, Black Pepper and Teriyaki flavours.
Turn up the heat with the Special Braised Pork Rib with Naga Chilli ($48), where the fiery sauce is made from the Naga pepper, one of the hottest chilli peppers in the world with a rating of 1,382,118 Scoville Heat Units!
What CNY celebration is complete without Bak Kwa (candied roast meat slices)? For the first time ever, Taste.Swiss Butchery is selling Bak Kwa. Each slice is sweet without being overly greasy, and there’s a Spicy version for those feeling a little more brave ($18.80 Original packet, $19.80 Spicy packet).
Usher in prosperity with their house-made Prosperity Yusheng platter (From $48.80), and choose between salmon or tuna for your choice of fish, or indulge in a bubbly CNY hot pot dinner, with celebratory combos available, such as the Frisch Seafood Basket, which includes Japan Scallops and Red Snapper Slices (4-6 pax, $48), and the Swiss Butchery Special, which comprises Wagyu Chuck Eye Roll and Iberico Pork Belly slices among other premium ingredients (4-6 pax, $48).
For larger gatherings, there’s the Family Reunion Dinner package, that features Oyster Meat and Bamboo Lobsters (10-12 pax, $168). Each order comes with a Homestyle Broth and cooler bag. We especially loved the Almond Crisps and Pumpkin Seed Crisps ($23.90 each) – chock-full of nuts and seeds in thin buttery biscuits. For something more unconventional, try the Bamboo Charcoal Eggroll ($16.80), or the Red Velvet Cookies ($15.80). Surprisingly both sweet and savoury, each Red Velvet Cookie consisted of a salty ribbon of cheese surrounded by red velvet.
