Located on the 10th floor of Hotel Jen Orchardgateway, the spacious all-day dining restaurant boasts great views of Orchard Road through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. At the buffet line, you’ll be surprised by inventive offerings such as char pasta (spaghettini cooked char kway teow style) and lotus leaf rice with bacon. We bet you’ve never dreamt that pasta could have wok hei!
Start your feast with the delectable selection of sushi, sashimi and salads, but you won’t stay there long before the tempting spread of seafood on ice draws you in. Prawns, mussels, clams, whole crabs—who can say no? There’s also a live station where fresh seafood and meats are grilled to order.
We love the unique Thai fried chicken wings that are stuffed with creamed potatoes and Parma ham. Another winning fusion dish is pie tee paella. At this DIY station, you fill a pie tee shell with fragrant seafood paella along with traditional toppings such as prawns and peanuts.
Be sure to try the prawn twisters too. In fact, take a whole bunch. It’s a snack you can’t put down.
Makan@Jen doesn’t skimp on the sweet stuff. The main dessert bar offers ice cream and sliced cakes alongside fresh fruit, Nyonya kueh and mochi delights. Over at the ice kacang station, you can work the ice-shaving machine and play around with a host of toppings and sauces.
